Brevard Zoo donates $5,000 to Australian organizations

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

REVARD COUNTY — The culmination of sales from collectible buttons purchased at the Brevard Zoo has been instrumental in supporting conservation efforts across the globe. Each button features an animal specific to the Brevard Zoo, from newborn animals to the recently opened Rainforest Revealed, and costs zoo guests $1 per button.

These purchases directly benefit Brevard Zoo’s Wildlife Emergency Fund, which has aided various organizations for the past few years. “Last year we created and sold almost 13,000 buttons, which was up about 2,500 or so buttons from the previous year,” said Jody Palmer, Brevard Zoo director of conservation programs. “It’s such a labor of love because it involves volunteers and staff from all over the entire zoo.”
